A 12-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after he fell during a Lake District walk.
Langdale Ambleside Mountain Rescue Team and Keswick Mountain Rescue team were called out to Seat Sandal at around 2.20pm yesterday, Friday March 28.
The boy had hurt his leg in the fall while he was descending Seat Sandal towards Grisedale Tarn.
The Langdale team took the lead in the rescue and Keswick members helped carry the stretcher to the North West Air Ambulance helicopter.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “As Keswick team arrived at the location the casualty had already been assessed and treated by a doctor and was tucked up nice and warm on a stretcher.
“As we started to descend we got word that an air ambulance was on the way so we diverted to a flat area and waited.
“The casualty was duly loaded onto the helicopter for onward transport to hospital.”
