A Lake District hotel, on the market for £3.75 million, has been sold for an undisclosed sum.
The sale of the 45-bedroom Castle Inn Hotel at Bassenthwaite was brokered by the specialist hotels team at Colliers.
Originally a traditional Lakeland residence, the Castle Inn Hotel has been extended, converted and connected together to provide 45 bedrooms, including seven suites, as well as a self-contained leisure club with indoor heated pool and gym.
The hotel also has several conference facilities including the 200-cover Budworth Hall, which has its own bar, stage and fully sprung dance floor.
It is in around seven acres of land, including a grass tennis court and putting green.
Julian Troup, head of hotels agency at Colliers, said: “This is another high profile hotel sale in the Lake District which attracted a good deal of interest from a diverse range of parties.
“The region continues to attract both overseas and domestic buyers and we’re pleased to have been able to identify the right buyers who were able to close the deal to provide them with their first hotel representation in the region.”
The corporate buyer that acquired the hotel, which overlooks Bassenthwaite Lake, was represented by Martin Davis of Graham & Sibbald.
