A month-long celebration of Indian cuisine will be celebrated at Keswick’s Inn on the Square.
Throughout May, guests can indulge in a special menu curated by the hotel’s talented team of Indian chefs, showcasing the rich flavours and culinary heritage of their home country.
The brainchild behind the vibrant ‘Bombay May’ menu is head chef Srikanth Neeli, originally from the lively Indian city of Hyderabad. He leads a talented team of Indian chefs, including Ramachandra Reddy Mandha, also from Hyderabad; and Steve Bose, hailing from the city of Kolkata.
Together, they aim to share their passion for Indian cuisine with the people of Keswick.
The ‘Bombay May’ menu features a tantalising array of dishes, including the aromatic Hariyali Paneer Tikka, succulent Dum Ka Murgh and comforting Dal Tadka, amongst others.
Guests can choose from a selection of starters, mains, desserts, plus optional extras, with dishes priced individually to allow for a customisable dining experience.
All main courses are accompanied by fragrant rice and freshly baked naan bread, ensuring a truly authentic taste of India. A selection of Indian beers will also be available during this limited period.
“I wanted to bring the flavours of my homeland to the hotel and share something truly special with our customers,’’ said Srikanth.
‘’This is an opportunity for our cooking skills to shine and we are excited to introduce dishes that may not typically be found in the local area, infused with our own unique twist.”
The dishes are inspired by the women in Srikanth’s life as he grew up watching his mother and sister cook fresh meals daily.
“My culinary journey began early, spending time with my mother in the kitchen and learning essential skills that helped me and my siblings survive,” he added.
“I borrowed money from my brother-in-law to attend culinary school when I was younger. Initially, it was a way to support my family and improve our lives. However, once I began cooking, I fell in love with it and realised that I wanted to pursue it as a career.”
Prior to joining Inn on the Square, Srikanth honed his skills in various countries, including Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Kuwait. He was drawn to the Lake District because of its one-of-a-kind landscape.
The Bombay May launched on May 1 and will be available daily throughout the month at Brossen Steakhouse alongside the new summer menu, located within the Inn on the Square. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling 017687 73333 or book online at www.lakedistricthotels.net/bombaymay
