The official launch of the new play area at Threlkeld will take place on Sunday May 19, members of the village parish council were told at the April meeting.
The celebratory event will take place between 11.30am and 3.30pm and all councillors have been invited to attend.
Alison Crozier, chair of Threlkeld Toddlers, gave an update in a written report which said that three picnic benches had been bought – two for the play area and one for the sports field. Councillors have still to consider whether they want to buy a bench to commemorate the Jubilee/Coronation.
Signs are to be mounted on the fence and councillors requested that they include reference to the site being known locally as the Jobby Croft.
