A paraglider has been found dead on a Lake District fell.
Keswick Mountain Rescue were called out at 9.10am on Sunday June 2 after Cockermouth teams requested help to find a missing paraglider, who had launched from the summit of Robinson.
As the Keswick team were assembling, a paraglider canopy was spotted in a gill above Buttermere.
Members from both teams converged on the location, but the pilot was declared dead at the scene.
Teams then launched a complex recovery operation to retrieve the man’s body.
A spokesperson from Keswick Mountain Rescue team said: “Our deepest thoughts and sympathies are with the man’s family and friends.”
Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team, Cumbria Police and Lake District Mountain Rescue Searchdogs were also involved.
