Today is the day you decide who will be running the country and who will represent your constituency in Parliament.
Polling stations opened at 7am for the 2024 General Election and remain open until 10pm.
It’s all change in Cumbria as constituency boundaries have been altered – the county now has five seats:
- Barrow and Furness
- Carlisle
- Penrith and Solway
- Westmorland and Lonsdale
- Whitehaven and Workington
For the first time in a UK General Election, people casting their vote in person will need to take photo ID with them.
People who have not managed to get their postal vote sent in can drop them off at polling stations too.
