A temporary road closure is to be put in place at The Heads in Keswick to allow Cumberland Council to carry out highway work which is expected to start on September 2 and take 10 days to complete.
It will take place from its junction with the U2936, extending north-west for approximately 220 metres.
A diversion will operate from the unrestricted section of the U2889 at The Heads and B5289 Heads Road. A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times.
