The Cafe HNW park hut in Upper Fitz Park is having some building work to modify the internal space.
The park keepers have moved into their new building which has enabled the cafe to use the whole park hut.
Builders have installed new doors, including a hatch door and windows, knocked out walls and re-built a few walls to open up the cafe interior. The original park hut features have been retained throughout.
“This was an opportunity to create a better working kitchen space, as the cafe has grown in popularity over the last couple of years so we needed to adapt and grow to cope with demand,” said owner Debbie Devereux.
“We plan to offer both internal seating inside the new cafe and an additional outdoor seating area on the new patio.”
Local tradesmen Stewart and Adam Blayney are constructing a new bar from a sequoia tree which blew down in Portinscale. Andy Nichol has been contracted to do the electrical work and SM Flooring will be laying a slate looking floor.
The work on the cafe is on schedule and it will re-open fully in February.
