A person taking part in a Lake District parkrun collapsed after finishing the event.
The incident happened at Whinlatter parkrun yesterday, Saturday January 4.
Organisers of the event said: “Some of you will know we had a very serious incident yesterday with one of our parkrunners requiring CPR following a collapse after they had finished parkrun with us.
“Thanks to the very quick actions of those that were near the parkrunner at the time, Forestry England staff and our parkrun community, CPR was given very quickly and with the use of the defibrillator, the parkrunner started to respond and was taken to hospital.
“We have heard from the family that the parkrunner is doing well, and will remain in hospital for a few days.
“They and we would like to thank every single person involved with this incident yesterday. A life was saved by the quick actions taken and you are all real life heroes!
“We wish a good recovery to our parkrunner.”
