A Lake District inn has reopened after a £1.1 million revamp.
The Royal Oak in Keswick, closed in March for the makeover, which has seen major upgrades of all areas of the property.
With interiors designed by Nanu Group, the new-look inn features cosy corners for walkers to tuck into after a busy day exploring nearby fells, a new snug area and restaurant, and a roaring slate fire.
In the heart of Keswick, The Royal Oak is run by chain Thwaites and has 18 bedrooms, which will be set to welcome guests from next month.
Mick Horan, inns operations director at Thwaites, said: “The Royal Oak is a popular, traditional inn in one of the Lake District’s most popular areas.
“The investment has not only given the Grade II listed building a new lease of life – conserving it for decades to come – but has also created a more elevated space that we’re certain guests will enjoy.”
