A Keswick teenager has been presented with the Mayor’s Cadet of the Year award.
A certificate was presented to Jacob Head, 15, by Keswick mayor Cllr Alan Dunn at a meeting of the town council at the Quaker Friends Centre.
Jacob, from the Keswick detachment of the Cumbria Army Cadet Force, will be assisting Cllr Dunn at the Remembrance Sunday service on November 14 by carrying the council’s wreath to the cenotaph.
He was also presented with a letter opener inscribed with a picture of the Moot Hall and got a round of applause from town council members.
There was a minute’s silence in remembrance of Southend West MP David Ames killed on October 15.
