Keswick Community Housing Trust has scooped the wooden goose in a national awards ceremony.
The trust’s housing development at Southey Court behind the Keswick Methodist Church, won the Beautiful Community Led Homes category.
The awards, part of the AGM for the Community Land Trust Network, were watched by chairman Bill Bewley, Bernice Lapthorne, Colin Thorns and Allan Daniels.
The goose award symbolises those who chart a path for others to follow.
Mr Bewley thanked the church and architect Stas Kubasiewicz, of Edwin Thompson, Keswick.
Mr Bewley said of the win: “It’s absolutely brilliant as it’s from our peers and people who are in touch with other community land trusts all over the country and recognises what a good job has been done.”
Keswick Community Land Trust is volunteer-led and was set up to try and make affordable homes for people in the town.
