The Friends of Braithwaite School are calling on ex-pupils to come to a summer fair tomorrow.
The offer has been extended to them bringing their own children to meet up with old friends and marvel at how wonderful the school looks now.
Carol Rennie, secretary of the Friends, said: “We’d love to give the new head teacher, Kate Davis, a sense of just how many people have cherished memories of their early years in Braithwaite.
“The school is much smaller now, but I come across so many people in Keswick who still wax lyrical over Mrs Dixon’s dinners and remember their swimming sessions with my mum, Mrs Rennie, at the Holiday Property Bond swimming pool over the road.”
Alongside refreshments, fun and games, a big board is being cleared in the hall to allow people to bring copies of photographs from their time at Braithwaite, with notelets provided for people to write memories of their time at the school on it.
Mrs Dixon, who recently celebrated 20 years at the school, has photographs of her own relatives at the school from as early as the 1930s.
The fete takes place from 2pm to 5pm and culminates in the Great Braithwaite Duck Race. There will be a cameo appearance by Braithwaite pantomime’s dame Griselda.
