Organisers of Keswick Scruffs Fun Dog Show have rearranged the event.
It follows the sudden cancellation announced at noon last Friday of last Sunday’s event.
The call was made in light of gusting winds forecast for the area on Sunday. With more than 36 market stall traders expected at Fitz Park, the expectation was for 30mph gusts which would impact the marquees as well as generating concerns about other elements of the show and participants, organisers said.
It will now be held on Sunday, July 17.
The popular event, making its return after a two-year absence, is organised by Keswick Town Council, and Chris and Peter Harper, who own Podgy Paws Pet Shop in the town.
Cllr Paul Titley said that it was only fair to give those attending plenty of notice rather making a decision late or on the day itself. Stallholders would be buying food and others travelling to the area, needed to be warned, explained Cllr Titley who leads on a number of town events.
