Firefighters were called to an unusual rescue – after a horse got stuck in a lime pit.
Crews from Keswick, Penrith and Patterdale were called to Glenridding to help Revel, who had fallen into the pit. They had to dismantle parts of the woodland to get him to safety.
Keswick Fire Station said: “Not one we come across every day! Revel had found himself in a very tricky spot down an old lime pit
“We worked together to rescue Revel whilst keeping him as calm as possible. Many thanks to all involved.
“Revel was checked over by the vet and was straight back into the field with his pals.”
