Borrowdale Banksy has made a comeback with a new mysterious slate sculpture.
Lucky landscape photographer Daniel Farrington, stumbled upon the artwork on Monday while out wild camping in the fells.
He said: “Me and my wife found the circle in the early hours after our first night of wild camping in the Lakes.
“In a bid to find a quiet spot away from any major footpaths we had unknowingly set up camp 30 metres away.
“It was quite the surprise to find it so close to where we set up and a great experience together with out first wild camp.
He added: “I do plan to go back in the next few days to try and get some proper images of the circle before this too collapses either by the weather or vandals.”
Last May, three slate circle structures were discovered on Castle Crag, Raven Crag and the third, situated just above Warnscale Bothy and residents were quick to dub the unknown artist as the Borrowdale Banksy.
The first sculpture was discovered by photographer and professional mountaineering instructor Carl Halliday, who did not wish to share the location of the sculpture, due to it only being accessible to experienced climbers.
At the time, The Lake District National Park Authority said that while it was aware of the work, the artist responsible remained a mystery.
The identity of the artist is still unknown, although the complex nature of the designs and the skill required to create the free-standing circles from thin slabs of local slate suggest he or she is a professional.
It has even been suggested the Borrowdale Banksy could be a dry-stone waller.
This May, the third sculpture was found to have collapsed by Nicola Crisp and her partner Freddie Forsyth, who had been determined to track it down despite its location being a closely guarded secret.
In light of the collapse, the location of the new structure will also remain undisclosed.
