Police have thanked people who came forward following the death of a woman in her 70s on a Lake District walk.
The woman, in her 70s, died after a fall at Surprise View, Borrowdale on Friday.
Emergency services, including police, ambulance, mountain rescue and the Great North Air Ambulance attended the incident after they were called at around 6.15pm.
Keswick Mountain Rescue said: “A Keswick Mountain Rescue Team member along with a GNAAS doctor were lowered from the top to the woman, whilst a second group of team members made an approach to the base of the cliff. Tragically the woman died from her injuries in the fall.
“Our deepest thoughts and sympathies go to the woman’s family and friends.”
A police spokesman added that the file has been passed to the coroner.
