A 56-year-old man died while out on a Lake District walk with friends.
The man was near the summit of Crag Hill when he collapsed unconscious on December 28.
His friends called 999 and started CPR.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team, Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team and the Coastguard were called out at about 3.40pm.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “Keswick team approached via Force Crag mines and Coledale Hause.
“The weather and visibility did not allow the helicopter to approach so it was forced to return to Prestwick.
“Team members arrived on scene but tragically there was nothing that could be done to save the man. Our deepest thoughts and sympathies go out to the man’s family and friends.”
