People in Cumbria are asked to stay vigilant as flood warnings and alerts are in place following heavy and persistent rain.
The Environment Agency has issued a flood warning for Keswick Campsite – which means flooding is expected and six flood alerts are in place for:
- Upper River Derwent, Stonethwaite Beck and Derwentwater
- Lower River Eden
- Rivers Brathay, Rothay and Winster
- Rivers Duddon, Crake and Mill Beck
- Rivers Lowther and Eamont
- Upper River Aire catchment
The agency is asking people to monitor local water levels and weather conditions, avoid using low lying footpaths or entering areas prone to flooding.
People should start acting on flood plans if they have one.
The Environment Agency Flood Warning System has issued the message based on rising river or tidal levels.
Its alerts are temporarily being automated due to industrial action, it said.
