Let’s hear it LOUD and CLEAR for our NHS and key workers tonight at 8pm for week 6 of the nationwide Clap For Our Carers campaign.
Millions of people have joined in the weekly campaign every Thursday evening, taking to their doorsteps, balconies, gardens and standing in their windows to pay tribute to the efforts of the 1.3 million NHS and health care staff fighting the Covid-19 pandemic every day, and other key workers including teachers, supermarket staff, pharmacists, bin men, delivery drivers, journalists and volunteers working all hours during the coronavirus crisis.
They clap, bang pots and pans, ring bells and play musical instruments to let the NHS staff, care home and hospice staff, and other key workers know loud and clear how much they are all appreciated during these unprecedented times.
The Clap for our Carers campaign was created by London-based Dutch yoga teacher Annemarie Plas, who came up with the idea after seeing footage of a similar tribute in the Netherlands.
Using social media, Annemarie spread the word of the campaign, with millions of people across the UK now taking part in this weekly event – at 8pm every Thursday – to give a boost to and show support for the people working tirelessly under the current extremely difficult circumstances.
So, let’s get out there and #ClapForOurCarers – tonight at 8pm.
