There has been another delay opening up the Lake District’s first Premier Inn.
Whitbread has again put back the opening date of the 71-bedroom hotel on High Hill in Keswick until February 6, according to the company’s website.
It had originally been stated that the hotel would open in November, then “before the Christmas break” and then mid January.
A spokesperson for Whitbread said: “Opening the doors of the hotel will be a hugely significant moment for us and we want to get everything right for our guests before we welcome them to the new hotel.”
The principal contractor GMI Construction is continuing to fit out the hotel ahead of opening and the spokesman added that the “excellent new team” that has been recruited is continuing with its training.
“We are really looking forward to being part of the business community in Keswick and playing our part to promote the town to our leisure and business customers. Taking a few weeks to get everything ready for them is the sensible thing to do.”
