Keswick firefighters tackle Lake District wildfire

Keswick Fire Station’s wildlife team were called out to tackle a wildfire on Blencathra.

Crews were called at around 3.55pm when the blaze was spotted on the fellside.

Keswick Fire Station said: “Thankfully the fire was quickly brought under control and fully extinguished.

“This is particularly early in the season for a wildfire but the fuel loading on the fells is still present even in the winter months.”
