Vandals went on a wrecking spree around Keswick over the Easter weekend.
It began on the night of April 6 when one of the portable toilets on the Keswick to Threlkeld Railway Trail was pushed over.
The vandals returned three days later and completely destroyed one of the toilets and tipped over the other three.
“We are upset about this because we are trying to provide a service for people where there is a gap, but inconsiderate individuals or groups appear to be determined to ruin it for everyone,” said Keswick Town Council clerk Vivien Little who has reported the matter to the police.
It was also reported that graffiti had been daubed on planters on the town’s Bell Close car park. According to Keswick in Bloom (KIB), 10 of the planters had been tagged with the same signature.
Town council parks staff are working with KIB to get rid of the graffiti.
“I have reported both of these to 101, but with no CCTV and no witnesses, there is not much we can do,” said Ms Little.
