A climber suffered multiple injuries when he slipped and took a 32ft fall on Shepherd’s Crag on the descent gully next to Jackdaw Ridge in Borrowdale.
Members of Keswick Mountain Rescue Team arrived quickly on the scene and after an assessment requested support from the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
Team medics provided pain relief to the casualty who was then packaged in a vacuum mattress and stretchered to the helicopter.
The man was airlifted to the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle, for further evaluation and treatment.
The incident happened last Thursday afternoon.
