With the summer holidays fast approaching, Calvert Stables in Keswick has launched a programme of activities for children aged 12 and under.
The Kids’ Club will start on Friday July 28 and run on a weekly basis until the end of August.
Each session is two hours long. As well as riding a pony, children will learn about taking care of all their pony’s needs. Sessions will cover a range of topics including how to groom a pony, tacking up, how to lead and handle a pony, first aid and what ponies like to eat.
“We are thrilled to launch our summer kids’ club,” said Henri Carew, stables manager at Calvert Stables.
“We have put together a fun programme in which children can enjoy riding a pony while also learning about how to take care of them.”
The cost per session, per child is £36.75 and the clubs will run on the following dates: Friday July 28, 1.30pm to 3.30pm; Tuesday August 1, 1.30pm to 3.30pm; Friday August 11, 1.30pm to 3.30pm; Friday August 18, 1.30pm to 3.30pm; Tuesday August 22, 1.30pm to 3.30pm; Tuesday August 29, 1.30pm to 3.30pm.
