A charity which helped a Keswick woman as she successfully battled cancer is to benefit from a quiz night to be held later this month.
Trish Gale, along with her daughters Rachel and Lotte, and family friend Diane Cannon are fundraising for The Head and Neck Cancer Foundation.
They are holding a charity quiz night on Friday September 22, at 7pm, at The Riverside Bar in Keswick.
It will be a fun night, and an opportunity for their friends and the whole community to come together and raise money for the cause.
The same weekend, Trish, Rachel and Diane will take part in Keswick Half Marathon on Sunday September 24.
“The Keswick Half Marathon is a very special race,” said Diane. “It is very much a community event where local runners are proud to show off our amazing area to runners from all over the country.
“The support from the organisers, Keswick Rugby Club, is always fantastic. We hope everyone will come out to give us and the other runners a cheer.”
Rachel said: “I hope that people are able to make a contribution to our fundraising, however small.
“The charity continues to support mum (Trish), who is a real inspiration to us all.”
Lotte Gale was also inspired to fundraise for the charity which helped her mum. Earlier this summer Lotte walked the South West Coastal Path, which is an arduous hike of 630 miles. She completed the solo walk in 26 days.
“I am delighted to have been able to raise £814 so far, to go towards mum’s fundraising,” said Lotte.
