A newly-refurbished hotel is working with two Cumbrian breweries to encourage more locals to visit and see what is on offer.
The Derwentwater Hotel in Portinscale has recently been given a new look and as part of the changes has introduced three ales in the bar made at the Fell and Hawkshead Breweries.
It rotates the ales to give each brewery the opportunity to showcase its range. The hotel was recently featured in an article by West Cumbria Camra following a visit by their local officer.
“Since I took over the running of the hotel in April 2022, we have undergone much work and investment to try and bring this magnificent building back up to being a key part of the Portinscale Village, and local community,” said general manager Matthew Plunkett.
“Anyone who lives in a CA12 postcode gets 20 per cent off their bill, not only on these amazing local ales, but on all food and drink at the hotel, along with any rooms they may wish to book with us, if they have friends or family wishing to stay.
“We really are trying to support the local community and encourage as many people as possible to come and see what we have to offer.
“Proof of address may be asked for, until we get to know you as a local!”
