A group set up 20 years ago to increase awareness of Keswick Museum and its collections is on the brink of folding.
An urgent appeal for more committee members to join The Association of the Friends of Keswick Museum failed to generate enough interest and the group remains un-constitutional and unviable.
A special general meeting has now been arranged in the museum’s Crosthwaite Room at 10.30am on Thursday October 19 at which a resolution will be presented that the association be dissolved.
“We need to conduct this meeting in time to enable us to make the decision (whether to disband) on December 1, which is the deadline we have set ourselves, and to allow for other, subsequent constitutional processes should they occur,” said an association spokesperson.
“We encourage as many members of the association as possible to attend, join in the meeting and, additionally, join us for tea or coffee.”
