The tenth annual Christmas children’s book and toy bank collection will run from November 6 to December 15.
People are invited to buy an extra book from Bookends, Main Street, Keswick, and put it into the collecting box.
The books will then be taken to local charities to give to children who might be experiencing financial or emotional difficulties.
The Children’s Book and Toy Bank collected 840 new books and toys last year and for its 10th annual collection is aiming to collect 1,000.
Charities to benefit include the North Lakes Food Bank and the Jigsaw Children’s Hospice in Carlisle.
