A walker out in the Lake District called the emergency services after they found an unresponsive man near a footpath.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called by the walker, on their way up Helvellyn from Swirls car park, when they found the man near the main footpath on December 28 at around 1.50pm.
The team requested support from the Coastguard helicopter and police also responded.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “Attempts were made to resuscitate, but sadly and despite best efforts, the man could not be saved.
“Our condolences go to the man’s family and friends.”
