Members of the Keswick Red Squirrel Group have put up signs urging drivers to slow down on Manor Brow – a regular crossing place for the endangered mammals.
The owner of the woodland was thanked for his co-operation and a spokesperson for the group said: “Hopefully these signs will make people think about their speed driving on this road – if not all the potholes certainly will.”
