A temporary road closure is to be put in place on the B5292 Whinlatter Pass, near Braithwaite, to allow Openreach to carry out utility works which are expected to take 20 weeks to complete.
The works are expected to start on May 2 and the closure will be in force from a point approximately 350 metres north west of the B5292 junction with the U2216, extending in a north-westerly direction for more than four kilometres.
Works will take place between the hours of 4am and 9.30am. For a period of three days from May 7 the restriction will be in force between 4am and 3.30pm.
There will be an alternative route via the unrestricted sections of the B5292, A5086 Cockermouth and the A66 and a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times
