Flares will be lit on many of the Lake District fells early on Saturday (June 22) morning in memory of those who have lost their lives while serving as police officers.
This year organisers of the Light the Lakes event are hoping to have someone at the top of every one of the 214 Wainwright fells. The hikers taking part will be supported by the Light the Lakes brass band and there will be bands on top of Latrigg, Loughrigg and Wansfell.
There will be a 20-strong brass band on top of Latrigg playing between 2.30am and 3am.
The event will be raising money for the charity Care of Police Survivors.
