The Yan at Broadrayne, just off Dunmail Raise, has been recognised as one of the Good Food Guide’s 100 best local restaurants.
It is the second successive year The Yan near Grasmere has earned a place on the prestigious list, which sets out to uncover the very best local restaurants across every region of the UK.
Restaurants are nominated by the public then independently and anonymously assessed by Good Food Guide editors and inspectors before making the list. This year, a record 60,000 nominations were received from readers demonstrating just how much support and appreciation there is for local culinary gems.
Speaking about The Yan, which was the only restaurant in Cumbria to make the list, inspectors said: “The Lake District is well-fed, but proper restaurants serving simple, straightforward cooking are surprisingly hard to find.
“All the more reason to treasure The Yan at Broadrayne, which goes the extra mile on food, service, and surroundings. It is a welcoming prospect on all fronts.”
