Firefighters were called out on Friday evening after a blaze broke out at the Kingfisher fish and chip shop in Keswick.
Crews received the call at 5.15pm when the fire broke out in the kitchen range of the chippy in Main Street. Appliances from Keswick and Cockermouth spent two hours bringing the blaze under control as Main Street closed to traffic and pedestrians. All staff were evacuated from the building and no-one was injured in the fire.
Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, two dry powder extinguishers and two carbon monoxide extinguishers to put out the fire.
