Borrowdale parish councillors heard at their latest meeting that there are once again serious concerns from members of the public about traffic tailbacks on the B5289.
Members heard that the congestion on the road in and out of the valley had in some instances led to the late bus not being run due to delays in it getting back.
The meeting was also informed that some local taxi firms were refusing to come down the Borrowdale Road because of the length of time it takes getting up and down it and this had resulted in some people being stranded at one end of the valley or the other, including pupils at Keswick School.
There was a suggestion made that webcams be installed on Bowe Barn and Barrow House to monitor the situation.
It was also felt that the new pedestrian crossing on Main Street near the Co-op in Keswick could exacerbate the length of the queues.
It was agreed that the concerns be once again raised with Cumberland Council.
