A temporary road closure is to be put in place on a section of the A591 near Thirlmere which will necessitate a change to a dual carriageway to accommodate the two-way flow of traffic.
The closure is expected to be put in place on September 2 and the highway works are expected to take two days to complete.
The A591 will be closed along the south east bound carriageway for approximately 950m. It will mean that south east bound vehicles will be diverted onto the north west bound dual carriageway, which will be changed to two-way traffic flow – one lane for south east bound traffic and the other for north west traffic.
A way for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained during the works.
