A father and son who have been running one of Keswick’s popular town centre pubs plan to make a lot of noise to herald their departure from the hostelry.
Jim and Connor O’Neil will quite literally leave The Oddfellows Arms in Main Street on a high note with multiple musicians seeing them off in style.
An Oddfest concert has been organised from 2pm on Sunday featuring all the musicians who have played for them during their tenure. Each musician or band will play a half hour session, each free-of-charge, and the evening is expected to end in a “massive” jamming session.
The pair received a warm welcome from customers when they arrived in May 2023 and have proved to be popular mine hosts.
They were already familiar faces having worked in the pub under previous tenants Carl and Cath Maloney.
“The customers have been fantastic and we have met some lovely people,” said Jim. “The musicians have also been absolutely fantastic. There is so much musical talent locally.”
Jim said the decision to leave had been made by Marston’s and added that they will eventually be taking over another pub. “We are waiting for the leases to be signed,” he said.
