A Lake District road has reopened after a rockfall earlier this week.
An emergency closure was put in place on Monday at West Road in Thirlmere after the rockfall at Rough Crag.
The rockfall, caused by Storm Ashley, saw the road closed between Launchy Gill and Rough Crag to all vehicles and pedestrians.
Cumberland Council reopened the road yesterday, Friday October 25.
It said its team had assessed the detailed condition reports conducted of the affected area to evaluate potential risks to the surrounding environment and the road was deemed safe for public use.
Drivers are now able to use the road as normal.
Cumberland Council said: “We appreciate the public’s patience and co-operation during the closure and would like to thank the community for following the recommended diversion routes and safety guidelines while this essential work was under way.”
