If you are creative, artistic and into all things crafty, Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland are looking for donations of good quality, hand crafted items for a special ‘Craft in Covid’ online auction to raise vital funds for the charity.
The auction will take place in early August and suggestions for donations include needlework, woodwork, papercrafts, knitted items, textiles…the list is endless! To offer an item visit www.hospiceathome.co.uk/event/craft-in-covid/ before the end of June and complete the form.
The Hospice at Home service covers 1500 square miles from the Scottish Border to Stainmore and Allonby to Alston. The charity is vital and needs to raise over £20,000 each week to continue to provide this service.
The charity’s fundraising office is currently closed, however, supporters are asked to hold onto items until nearer the time of the auction (August 2020) and the fundraising team will let donors know once they are able to welcome deliveries of items.
Cath Coates, fundraiser for Hospice at Home, said: “We are delighted to launch this appeal for crafted items in readiness for the ‘Craft in Covid’ auction in August. Cumbria is blessed with many talented craftspeople and it would be wonderful to welcome donations from a wide variety of artistic categories.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has pledged an auction lot so far. We have been very fortunate to receive offers of paintings, wooden rainbows and gardening accessories, knitted jumpers, crocheted soft toys, greetings cards, and a handmade handbag featuring Cumbrian fabrics – to name just a few. The more items we have means the potential to raise more funds to enable Hospice at Home to continue providing vital care and support to patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses, so we hope the community are able to assist with this appeal for more items.”
