A musician who was named songwriter of the ‘90s on BBC Radio 6 Music is to perform a virtual gig for Threlkeld Village Hall next week.
The concert, called Steve Knightley Live with Threlkeld, will feature two 45-minute sets by him on You Tube either side of a 10-minute interval before a Q&A session afterwards via Zoom.
“Enjoy your very own gig in the comfort of your own home – and think of all the questions you’ve been afraid to ask him when he’s been within striking distance!,” said a spokesman for Threlkeld Events. “I don’t think you’ll be able to see Steve anywhere live this year, so don’t miss this opportunity to see him here, virtually in Threlkeld,” he added.
Steve, who forms veteran folk-roots duo Show of Hands with Phil Beer, will perform on Thursday 9th July from 8pm. The Devon-based singer-songwriter, 66, received his decade-long national accolade from radio presenter Tom Robinson in 2012.
Tickets are £20 per household and there is no limit on the number of people allowed to watch. They are available online at TicketSource.
The event by Firebrand Music is expected to sell out. Ticket-holders will receive an email with the YouTube link and Zoom login on the afternoon of the gig.
Meanwhile, the village hall’s coffee shop will re-open this Saturday 4th July but there is still no date for when concerts can resume at the revamped venue.
