Jobseeker numbers in Cumbria rose by 300 in July, latest figures show.
In July, 14,205 people were looking for work, compared to 13,905 in June, the Office for National Statistics said.
Numbers rose in most districts in the county, except Eden where it fell by five, and it also fell by five in the Lake District National Park.
Compared to pre-lockdown in March, the claimant count in Cumbria is 7,275 higher, which is a rise of 105 per cent compared to 111 per cent nationally.
Eden, South Lakeland and the Lake District National Park have experienced increases above the national average. Allerdale experienced a rise from 1,595 in March to 2,850 in July. In June, there were 2,830 people looking for work.
It is expected that jobseeker numbers will continue to fluctuate while the Government’s furlough scheme is wound down.
