Motorists will face a series of minor road closures across the North Lakes from this week.
United Utilities is carrying out works on four roads in different villages which will all involve short-term closures.
Today, the water company requires a three-day road closure on Stanger Hill, Ireby, from about 200 metres from its junction with the U2103.
Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be allowed through but the signed alternative route for vehicles is via unrestricted sections of the U2106, U2107, A591 (Bothel), A595 and U2103 (Torpenhow).
A temporary three-day road closure begins on Wednesday on a short section of the U2212 at Loweswater.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained and a suitable alternative route will be via the U2212 and the C2030.
On Thursday, a five-day closure is planned for the C2058 at Braithwaite from the junction with the U2354 for around 40 metres.
Pedestrian and dismounted cyclists can get through but a suitable alternative will be available for drivers on the unrestricted section of the C2058, B5292 and the U2354.
United Utilities has also planned three days of works for the B5291 at Dubwath from its junction with the C2064 in a north easterly direction for around 400 metres.
Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be allowed through and an alternative route for vehicles will be available via the B5291, A591 and A66.
The C2025 minor road at Dubwath is also expected to be closed tomorrow to allow BT Openreach to carry out utility works on a one kilometre stretch of road.
A way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained and a signed alternative route is available for vehicles via the C2025 (Cockermouth), C2064 and the C2005.
Cumbria Highways is set to carry out work on Park Bridge at Loweswater on Thursday for one day.
Pedestrian and cyclist access will be maintained but there is no suitable alternative for motorists.
