Health conscious shoppers can tuck into a new way of eating after a Grape Tree store opened its doors in Keswick.
The light, bright health and whole food shop is part of a national chain and is taking up a prime position in Main Street on the corner of Museum Square.
Two members of staff have been taken on, both former employees of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop in Keswick.
They are manager Judith Feetham and Judith Hildreth, while two more staff are expected to be taken on in the coming weeks.
Judith, the manager, said: “There is not a shop like this in Keswick and in these health-conscious times, it would seem to be just what we need in the town.
“During the pandemic, people’s shopping habits have changed and this size of store is proving very popular. I can’t wait to welcome new customers through our doors over the coming weeks.”
Grape Tree is a health foods, whole foods and superfoods specialist retailer and is one of the UK’s fastest growing retail businesses, opening new outlets across the country about every two weeks.
Founded in 2012 and with its head office in the West Midlands, the business employs over 500 people across over 120 stores, alongside its own packing and distribution centre and rapidly expanding online presence.
The stores are targeting the growing health food market and the increasing switch to healthier eating in the UK, Grape Tree sells over 600 choices of natural, unprocessed foods which appeal to the vegan, vegetarian and flexitarian market, reported to be a third of the UK population and growing.
