Speculation is afoot as residents and visitors wonder who is the Borrowdale Banksy?
Climber and photographer Carl Halliday stumbled upon a stone sculpture during a rock climb in Borrowdale a couple of weeks ago. He posted the picture online which led to some attributing the work to the ‘Borrowdale Banksy’.
Situated overlooking the Borrowdale Valley, Carl is keen to keep the exact location under wraps as the site is only accessible for experienced climbers.
“It felt a privilege to see it and photo it,” he said.
“I don’t know who the talented artist is. It’s the first time I’ve seen something like this on the fells,” he added.
