A series of temporary local road closures and traffic regulations are to be introduced to accommodate the Keswick-based Lakesman Triathlon event this month.
Competitors will swim in Derwentwater before riding 112 miles and running a marathon along local routes on Sunday June 20.
The road closures will come into effect from Saturday June 19 and will last until after the event, which is based at Crow Park.
They involve vehicles being banned from stretches of Lake Road and off High Hill from its junction with the A66. An alternative route for vehicles will be available for the latter via the A66 and Crosthwaite Road.
A stretch of Church Lane will also be closed from its junction with High Hill, with no alternative route for vehicles.
The road closures or no waiting restrictions being brought in by Cumbria County Council will also impact Cockermouth, which the cyclists will pass through, up to Lamplugh roundabout.
Parts of Whitehaven and Workington will also be affected.
A way for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times during the restrictions. Any queries should be made to the county council’s traffic management team.
