The owners of Keswick chocolate shop Ye Olde Friars have been playing the role of Easter bunny for frontline workers in the town over the last week.
Staff at Keswick’s ambulance station, Mary Hewetson Hospital, Castlehead Medical Centre, and the Millfield and Netherplace care homes in the town have received Easter goodie boxes of chocolate and sweet treats.
Young children in the town also received an early Easter surprise when they found individual lollies attached to the garden gates of their homes.
Michael Webster, one of the owners of the chocolate shop in Market Square, stressed: “This was not a publicity stunt. We hadn’t told any local press, but details have gone out on Facebook.
“We just wanted to say thank you and to cheer up people who are working so hard at the moment,” said Michael, whose company also has a shop in Ambleside.
