A new service has been launched to keep people in touch with loved ones who are in hospital during the coronavirus crisis.
Messages can be sent to patients on the North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust’s inpatient wards, with visiting currently suspended – apart from a few exceptions – on inpatient wards because of the Covid-19 virus.
The Patient Experience and Involvement Team and PALS can support relatives who wish to send a message to a loved one in hospital. Messages will be printed and laminated before being delivered to the relevant ward.
Relatives need to email or phone in their message, to include:
- Their loved one’s name and date of birth
- A message with a photograph included as an email attachment if they wish
To send a message to a relative in hospital contact: Freephone: 0800 633 5547 or 01228 814008 or email [email protected] – the service is available Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm.
