Keswick School’s headteacher has praised the students who picked up their GCSE results today for their positive attitude during challenging times.
The school has not released any data surrounding the results, but head Simon Jackson said: “The GCSE grades awarded today reflect the tremendous hard work and dedication of our outstanding year 11 students.
“They have been a fabulous year group and have supported each other through incredibly challenging times.
“Despite everything, they have remained positive, outgoing and have been a pleasure to have as part of our Keswick School community.
“Through two periods of lockdown, these Year 11 students have demonstrated excellent independent study skills more typical of much older students.
“They have also actively engaging in live lessons and been wonderfully creative in the work that they have produced.
“Following each period of lockdown, the year 11 students were so positive on their return to school and fully engaged in the curriculum and all the activities we could provide.
“Therefore, the grades that our year 11 students have achieved today are a testament to this proactive approach and their terrific attitude to learning.
We are delighted that the vast majority of the year group will be returning to our sixth form in September and wish the very best to those who are moving on to start an apprenticeship or attend college.”
