Keswick’s Blacks store in Main Street is to be converted into a GO Outdoors Express outlet in January.
Lee Bagnall, chief executive officer of parent firm JD Outdoors, said: “While this may come as a surprise to some of our loyal customers of Blacks in Keswick we are committed to continuing to provide the level of service and quality that our customers expect in the GO Express stores.
“With the best outdoor brands, we are confident this conversion will offer a rewarding shopping experience for outdoor enthusiasts in the town.
“The new GO Express store will also allow Keswick shoppers to benefit from our GO Outdoors loyalty programme, which provides lower prices available for members.”
Blacks will still be available online.
GO Outdoors was founded in Sheffield in 1998. It now has more than 80 stores and 250 outdoor brands across nine different activities.
The company has become one of the UK’s biggest outdoor retail chains. It employs thousands of outdoor enthusiasts, each chosen for their passion for outdoor activity.
